Chemical properties: brownish yellow crystal properties: no odor, astringent taste, strong moisture absorption, deliquescent, deliquescent into reddish brown liquid in the air. It is very soluble in water, and the aqueous solution is strongly acidic, which can solidify the protein. It is easily soluble in ethanol, acetone, liquid sulfur dioxide, ethylamine and aniline, but insoluble in glycerol and phosphorus trichloride.
Uses: mainly used as water treatment agent, corrosive agent for printing plate making, electronic circuit board, chlorination agent for metallurgical industry, oxidant and mordant for dye industry, catalyst, oxidant and chlorination agent for organic synthesis industry. It is the raw material for manufacturing other iron salts and pigments and used in mine beneficiation.
